About Us
We are a small hobby kennel, licensed and inspected by the US Department of Agriculture. We typically breed one or two litters a year, so that we may continue our bloodlines or bring in outside blood. We occasionally have puppies or dogs for sale and enjoy talking with people about our dogs.
We are located 45 minutes from Athens, in beautiful Northeast Georgia. Away from traffic and city life, puppies can play, explore and experience all that nature has to offer. Sportsmen/women are abundant and the Labradors are many! This is the perfect location to produce a Labrador Retriever that is beautiful, as well as genetically sound.
We do everything possible to insure the quality and temperament of our Labradors. We perform genetic testing, pedigree research and offer Health Guarantees. Our Labradors are sound and socialized to adapt to any family setting. Each Labrador puppy is accustomed to children and other pets; from dogs and cats; to larger farm animals. They are also accustomed to groups of people, loud noises and strange places. We strive to nurture a Labrador, which is as comfortable in the show ring as in front of the fireplace at home.
Our puppies are whelped, in our home, with mom by our side. They spend the next few weeks indoors, with their mom; handled and checked, daily, to make sure all is healthy and that each puppy is growing properly. As their eyes open, each puppy continues to receive individual care and is introduced to toys, sounds and the smell of game birds, by the use of fresh wings or live birds. As they begin to be more active, each puppy has a chance to develop their skills for retrieving, as well as swimming. We also start working with some basic obedience, such as Sit and Stay. We are very proud of each personality we nurture and develop.
All of our puppies are socialized with intensive care to insure that Cedarrose puppies are the best they can be. From birth, they are handled and praised to build confidence and security. My children work as hard with puppy training as I do; they play many hours and insure that our puppies are great with people and are safe with children. Our puppies have also been exposed to farm animals, cats and other dogs; this helps each puppy prepare for whatever they may experience in their new homes. We watch for any sign of problems and we know each personality.
We offer intelligence and excellent temperament; we strive to produce the highest quality Labrador Retriever, possible. We breed for true type and conformation, without forgetting the true purpose of this amazing breed.
We offer rescue services for Labradors in need.
We gladly welcome any of our puppies back, whether to visit or in need of a new home.
